Nestled in the charming town of Point Reyes Station, Cafe Reyes is a vibrant culinary gem specializing in wood-fired pizzas and fresh oysters, creating a unique blend of casual coastal dining with rustic Italian flair. This restaurant masterfully combines the bright, clean flavors of local delicacies with artisanal techniques, making it a must-visit destination for food lovers exploring California’s North Coast.
The heart of Cafe Reyes lies in its extraordinary pizza offerings, each baked to perfection in a traditional wood-fired oven that imbues the crust with a satisfyingly crisp edge and smoky undertones. Standout dishes such as the Farallon, the Miwok Pizza, and the irresistible Margherita Pizza with Prosciutto showcase fresh, thoughtfully sourced ingredients — from the pungent blue cheese crumble to fragrant, hand-cut rosemary harvested directly from the restaurant’s garden, as one attentive manager was observed doing upon opening. Complementing these signature pies is their oyster bar, where local oysters served on the half shell arrive fresh and briny, a perfect balance of sea-salty zest that pairs beautifully with the light acidity of local juices and crisp mixed greens.
Customers consistently praise the atmosphere at Cafe Reyes, highlighting its inviting, laid-back vibe with ample outdoor seating that allows diners to soak in the natural beauty of Point Reyes while enjoying their meal. As one visitor noted, the restaurant (often bustling with locals who arrive early to snag a table) offers an authentic sense of community and place that is rare to find. The service feels warm yet professional, enhancing the relaxed dining experience perfectly.
The menu extends beyond pizza and oysters to delicious starters like the Caprese Salad and flavorful touches like garlic bread with cheese, which add depth and comfort to the meal. And for those with a sweet tooth, the decadent chocolate cake is an indulgent way to conclude a memorable dining experience. Whether you’re savoring a veggie pie or a calzone, every bite at Cafe Reyes reflects the care and passion poured into its culinary craft.
In essence, Cafe Reyes offers more than just food — it’s a genuine taste of local culture with an emphasis on quality and community. Whether stopping by for a quick, satisfying lunch or settling in for a leisurely dinner after exploring the stunning Point Reyes area, diners leave with a lasting impression of fantastic flavors combined with a welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere.
Fantastic food and a great experience overall! It was the perfect spot to try out after exploring Point Reyes. We got the Farallon, Miwok, and Margherita.
Oysters and pizza were both delicious. Nice outdoor seating area and good service.
This place was great. You know it must be special when a line of locals is waiting to get in 10 minutes before open. The manager was cutting fresh rosemary from the garden for the pizza upon arrival. The oysters were good but the pizza was amazing.
we had such a fun lunch. We were actually very surprised about the little town and how busy it would be on a Sunday afternoon. But then we found Cafe Reyes. Just a really fun place to grab amazing pizza and have a drink. It would be worth the drive, but we were just having to pass through. Thanks for great service and wonderful food. We hope to be back.
Café Reyes is an absolute must-visit for pizza lovers and anyone looking for a cool escape on a hot day. Their wood fired pizza oven works magic, delivering perfectly crisp, flavorful pies that truly stand out. I love how they’ve named their pizzas after local landmarks…it gives the menu a unique, community-driven feel. The vibe is fantastic, whether you’re dining inside in the cozy atmosphere or soaking up the fresh air outdoors. It’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a great meal. Their salads are just as impressive…fresh, vibrant, and packed with locally sourced ingredients that elevate every bite. If you're in the area, make sure to stop by for incredible food, friendly service, and an experience that feels both special and familiar at the same time. Highly recommend!
Service here was really good, pizza was really good. But oysters were served on a plate with no ice? Never seen that before but all the brine was just gone and they tasted kind of weird because of that.
After a nice hike and a stroll through town or yoga in Toby’s this is such a welcoming spot at the end of the road. Nice little patio to eat on a warm day or a well decorated interior to enjoy your meal. Staff were helpful with ordering and super friendly despite being very busy - they close between lunch and dinner so be sure to check the times- they get very busy- I’ve missed this meal twice by showing up too late for lunch.
I love their pizzas! Fresh pizzas from the oven, with choicest of toppings and fresh greens are the best. Their margarita pizza is my all time favourite. Don’t worry about the burnt corners, they taste absolutely delicious. Service takes about 10-15 mins, but it’s worth the wait!!
